Komasara's hat trick boosts Port Colborne over Buffalo, 10-0

The Buffalo Jr. Blades could not stop the Port Colborne Pirates' Bryan Komasara, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-0 win.

Komasara's first goal came 4:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:47 into the first and at 14:36 into the second.

Port Colborne's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Buffalo power plays. The Pirates was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Port Colborne allows 2.2 goals per game. The Pirates forced Buffalo goalie Ian Shorthouse to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Port Colborne bested its season scoring average. This season, the Pirates average 4.4 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Port Colborne additionally got points from Jordan Warren, who also registered one goal and four assists and Charlie Izaguirre, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Port Colborne also had goals scored by Tomas Dychtiar, who had one and James Mense-Dietrich and Dima Lavrenov, who scored two goals each. Other players who recorded assists for Port Colborne were Zoran Popel, who had two and Blaine Bechard, Thomas Sestini, Jordan Bolibruck, Damien Lalonde, Dayne Phillips, Sebastian Kanally, and Trevor Smith, who contributed one a piece.

Morgan Hudson rejected 23 shots on goal for Port Colborne. The Pirates incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Shorthouse recorded 42 saves for the Jr. Blades. Buffalo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
