Leamington's Spidalieri deadly on offense in 5-1 win against St. Thomas

Tony Spidalieri was all over the ice for the Leamington Flyers, as he tallied two goals in Leamington's 5-1 win over the St. Thomas Stars.

Spidalieri's tallies came at 12:24 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Leamington and on the power play 19:46 into the first to make the score 3-1 Leamington.

The Flyers forced St. Thomas goalie Luke Bierworth to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Troy Cox also scored for Leamington. In addition, Leamington received assists from Brett Babkirk and Joe Manchurek, who contributed one a piece and Cole Chevalier, Alex Seguin, and Dakota Olvin, who each chipped in two.

The Stars were held below their usual level of production. St. Thomas averages 4.5 goals per game.

The Stars were led by Drew Collinson, who scored the team's only goal. Collinson scored 11:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mike Iacocca provided the assist.

Leamington's Matt Mancina stopped 21 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Luke Bierworth made 37 saves for St. Thomas on 42 shots. The Stars incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
