John May tallied two points to lead the Minnesota Flying Aces to a 5-1 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars. Minnesota forced Breezy Point goalie Ian Shidlofsky to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. The Flying Aces found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Minnesota has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Minnesota also had goals scored by Jared Sprink, who had two and Mason Wyman and Logan Roszel, who each put in one. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Alec Brandup, who had three and Andre Pison, Dylan Nelson, Patrick Kegley, Vladimir Marchenko, Brad Hauser, and Sean Zasey, who contributed one a piece. The North Stars were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Breezy Point surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. The North Stars were led by Timothy Taylor, who scored the team's only goal. Taylor scored on the power play 13:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Matt McLaughlin had put Breezy Point on the power play. Ryan Schroeder picked up the assist. McLaughlin recorded 14 saves for the Flying Aces. Minnesota totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play. The North Stars' Shidlofsky stopped 37 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Breezy Point registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
