North Iowa downs Breezy Point, 5-2

The North Iowa Bulls took home the win against the Breezy Point North Stars, 5-2.

Breezy Point was unable to stop North Iowa from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulls eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

North Iowa was helped by Taylor Brown, who had one goal. Brown scored 12:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Kyle Krueger provided the assist. North Iowa also got points from Richie Marenis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. North Iowa also got a goal from Ron Lindgren as well. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Matt Kroska, who had three and McFarlanne B, Connor Langfield, and Matthew Fosdick, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Breezy Point ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game.

The North Stars were led by Crosby Steen, who registered one goal. Steen scored on the power play 4:07 into the third period to make the score 4-2 North Iowa. Breezy Point had taken the advantage when the Bulls' Tyler Burg got sent off for roughing. Timothy Taylor assisted on the tally. Tyler Reichl also scored for Breezy Point. More assists for Breezy Point came via Ryan Schroeder, Kyle Whipple, and Kyle Eberwein, who each chipped in one.

North Iowa's Jon Narverud stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Bulls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Walker Enstad recorded 32 saves for the North Stars. Breezy Point registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
