Alexandria downs Twin City, 5-2

Karson Kuntz registered one point to lead the Alexandria Blizzard to a 5-2 victory over the Twin City Steel.

Alexandria excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Blizzard's offense rang up 43 shots on Twin City's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Alexandria also got points from Ian Eckland, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Chayce Coenen also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Kyle Kuntz, who had two and Austin Rudnick, Danny Pelzer, Spencer Peratalo, and Tom Schmidt, who contributed one a piece.

The Steel were helped by Brody Peterson, who racked up one goal. Peterson scored 8:28 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alexandria. Chase Myers-Beck assisted on the tally. Twin City also got a goal from Ryan McAloon as well. In addition, Twin City received assists from Calvin Miska and AJ Merritt, who each chipped in one.

Dom DeGuisseppi made 26 saves for Alexandria on 28 shots. The Blizzard totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Sawyer Marshall recorded 38 saves for Twin City. The Steel ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
