Cleveland downs Michigan, 4-1

Cleveland Heights CC    Sat, Mar 02, 2013

Dominic Valencia registered one point to lead the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks to a 4-1 victory over the Michigan Mountain Cats.

Cleveland forced Michigan's goalies to work without much rest, firing 32 shots and forcing 28 saves. Dominic Juncaj made zero stops and Spencer Craig made 28. The Jr. Lumberjacks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Michigan power plays.

Cleveland also got a goal from Scott Cuthrell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Zach Seither, who had two and Andrew Mitch, Jake Roeper, and Fred West, who each chipped in one.

The Mountain Cats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cleveland to score on any of its five power plays.

Joseph Moza rejected 20 shots on goal for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
