Flint holds on for 3-2 win against Battle Creek

The Battle Creek Revolution tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Flint Jr. Generals would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Edward Osowski put Flint up 3-0 in the third period, but Battle Creek pulled to within one on Cory Markovich's tally 9:34 into the third period.

The the Jr. Generals penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 13 minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 30.0 minutes per game Flint had been spending in the box. The Jr. Generals kept the Revolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Flint was helped by Ian Teal, who tallied one goal. Teal scored 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Flint. Adrain Larsson provided the assist. Nicholas Gnagni also scored for Flint. More assists for Flint came via Austin Fletcher, who had two and Conner McGovern, Jacob Howie, and Ted Barile, who each chipped in one.

Battle Creek put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr. Generals to score on any of their five power plays. The Revolution forced Flint goalie Barile to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Battle Creek also got a goal from Joshua Kimber as well. Other players who recorded assists for Battle Creek were James Romberger and Zach Rees, who contributed one a piece.

Barile recorded 30 saves for the Jr. Generals. Battle Creek incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
