Cleveland downs Battle Creek, 5-2

Louis Sawchik finished with one point to lead the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks to a 5-2 victory over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Cleveland forced Battle Creek goalie Jackson Steltmann to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Cleveland also got points from Dominic Valencia, who also had one goal and one assist. Scott Cuthrell also scored for Cleveland. In addition, Cleveland received assists from Dallas Szustak, who had two, Kyle Gonzalez, who had three, and Andrew Sprouse, Andrew Mitch, Jared Johnson, and Nick Balavich, who each chipped in one.

The Revolution excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Battle Creek was helped by Derek Dodge, who registered one goal. Dodge scored 7:37 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Battle Creek. Joshua Kimber provided the assist. Battle Creek also got a goal from James Romberger as well. Other players who recorded assists for Battle Creek were Kyle Ward, who had one.

David Heflin recorded 25 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Revolution's Steltmann stopped 45 shots out of the 49 that he faced. Battle Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
