Broliden, St. Louis blank Peoria, 7-0

Mikael Broliden recorded a shutout against the Peoria Mustangs as the St. Louis Jr. Blues picked up a 7-0 win.

St. Louis got the win thanks to a great game by Brycon Johnson, who had two goals and one assist. Johnson scored the first of his two goals at 47 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. Lukas Daniels picked up the assist. Johnson's next tally made the score 6-0 St. Louis with 7:17 left in the third period. The Jr. Blues had taken the advantage when Peoria's Blake Ortman got sent off for interference. Daniels provided the assist.

St. Louis excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Jr. Blues kept the Mustangs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Pinel made 37 saves on 44 shots.

St. Louis also got points from Daniels, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Kyle Meeh also scored for St. Louis. More assists for St. Louis came via Cody Guidorzi, who had two, Jake Wynd, who had three, and Justin Rehrer, Tommy Heinzman, and PJ Adams, who contributed one a piece.

Peoria was held below its usual level of production. The Mustangs put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. St. Louis was unable to stop Peoria from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mustangs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Peoria struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 30 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Broliden rejected 31 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
