Riley Corbin was superb between the pipes for the Metro Jets, as he did not allow a goal in a 5-0 victory over the Quad City Jr. Flames. Brad Hepler had two goals to lead Metro to victory. Hepler found the back of the net 2:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and again while on the power play 16:53 into the third to make the score 5-0 Metro. The Jets stifled Quad City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Metro forced the Jr. Flames goalie Robby Vukelich to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. The Jets got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Metro also got points from Matt Stirling, who also had one goal and two assists. Metro also got a goal from Mike Gambino as well. More assists for Metro came via Aaron Bessey and Michael Lawrence, who each chipped in one and Andrew Palushaj, Devon D'Angelo, and Derek Britton, who contributed two a piece. Metro was unable to stop Quad City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Flames eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Quad City could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Jets' Corbin stopped 31 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Metro incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Vukelich recorded 45 saves for the Jr. Flames. Quad City registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities.
