Cleveland rips Battle Creek, 11-4

The Battle Creek Revolution had trouble finding ways to stop the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, which beat Revolution, 11-4.

Cleveland kept Battle Creek's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 39 saves on 50 shots. The Jr. Lumberjacks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Cleveland has scored at the pace of 4.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were helped by Jared Johnson, who registered two goals and two assists. Johnson scored the first of his two goals at 9:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Toms Taurins assisted on the tally. Johnson's next tally made the score 11-3 Cleveland with 5:18 left in the third period. Jake Green picked up the assist. Cleveland also got points from Scott Cuthrell, who also finished with three goals and one assist, Andrew Mitch, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, and Taurins, who also finished with three goals and one assist. Louis Sawchik also scored for Cleveland. More assists for Cleveland came via Bo Zinner, who had three, Kyle Gonzalez, Jeff Monfils, Dominic Valencia, and Zach Seither, who contributed one a piece, and Nick Balavich and Dallas Szustak, who each chipped in two.

The Revolution were led by James Romberger, who had one goal and two assists. Romberger scored 3:45 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Cleveland. Austin Maynard assisted on the tally. Battle Creek also had goals scored by Derek Dodge, who had one and Zach Rees, who had two. In addition, Battle Creek received assists from Cory Markovich, Jack Iandoli, and Kyle Ward, who contributed one a piece.

David Heflin took the win and made 12 saves before being replaced by Nick Danczak who made three saves. Cleveland ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. Battle Creek avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
