The Flint Jr. Generals survived a determined comeback attempt by the Michigan Mountain Cats on the way to a 3-1 win. Flint made the score 3-0 on a goal by Adam Beuthin at 9:38 in the second period, and Michigan got as close as 3-1 when Kyle Rojem scored 19:34 into the third period. The Jr. Generals' Anders Franke was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Franke certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.33 entering the contest. Flint's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Michigan power plays. The Jr. Generals kept the Mountain Cats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Spencer Craig made 40 saves on 43 shots. Flint was helped by Zachery Hill, who racked up one goal. Hill scored 5:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Flint. Nicholas Gnagni assisted on the tally. Conner McGovern also scored for Flint. More assists for Flint came via Adrain Larsson, who had one and Jacob Howie, who had two. Michigan forced the Jr. Generals goalie Franke to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. In addition, Michigan received assists from Kade Morrison, who had one. Flint totaled 27 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Mountain Cats ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major.
