The Queen City Steam tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Louis Jr. Blues would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. St. Louis took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Queen City storm back on a Lucas McCammant goal 19:23 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Jr. Blues were led by Brycon Johnson, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Johnson scored 12:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. St. Louis made the Steam's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 37 shots and forcing 33 saves. Zak Kemble made 15 stops and Alec Rounds made 18. The Jr. Blues got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Kerry McGlynn also scored for St. Louis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Trey Dodd and PJ Adams, who each chipped in one. Queen City also got a goal from Stephen Pack as well. In addition, Queen City received assists from Trevor Voelker, who had two and Henry Smith and Eric Woodward, who contributed one a piece. Mikael Broliden rejected 27 shots on goal for St. Louis. The Jr. Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Queen City incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
