St. Louis rolls over Queen City, 5-1

The Queen City Steam had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Louis Jr. Blues, which beat Steam, 5-1.

St. Louis was led by goalie Clint Steinmeyer, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Steinmeyer certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.76 entering the contest.

Cody Guidorzi had one goal and three assists to lead the Jr. Blues. Guidorzi scored 12:08 into the third period to make the score 5-0 St. Louis. Kerry McGlynn assisted on the tally.

St. Louis' offense rang up 52 shots on Queen City's net.

St. Louis additionally got points from Brycon Johnson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Louis included Trace Jablin, who had one and Lukas Daniels, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Mike Lozano, who had one.

The Steam forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Queen City surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Jr. Blues totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Alec Rounds recorded 47 saves for the Steam. Queen City registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
