Nick Cerrato gave the Twin City Steel the lead in the first period, and the Alexandria Blizzard was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1. A goal 13:32 into the the first period by Cerrato proved to be the game winner, and powered Twin City to the victory Brody Peterson picked up the assist.Alexandria was stymied by the Steel netminder Sawyer Marshall, who stopped 49 shots during the victory. Marshall managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.49 prior to the game. Twin City's penalty kill excelled, as the Steel gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Twin City stifled the Blizzard's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Steel were helped by Marvin Powell, who had one goal and one assist. Powell scored 3:59 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Twin City. Tom Bartel provided the assist. Twin City additionally got points from Bartel, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Twin City received assists from Nicholas Schreiner, who had one and Kegan Storjohann, who had two. Alexandria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Twin City power plays. The Blizzard were held below their usual level of production. Alexandria averages 4.1 goals per game. The Blizzard forced Twin City goalie Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. Alexandria was led by Drake Hunter, who scored the team's only goal. Hunter scored 5:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Twin City. Richie Brown picked up the assist. The Steel incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Blizzard's Kyle Miller stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Alexandria incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
