The Queen City Steam tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Louis Jr. Blues would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. St. Louis took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Queen City storm back on a Jonah Hoover goal 18:20 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Jr. Blues were paced by Kyle Meeh, who grabbed one goal. Meeh scored on the power play 13:38 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis. St. Louis had taken the advantage when the Steam's Taylor Penman got sent off for checking from behind. Trace Jablin provided the assist. The Jr. Blues' offense operated below they season average. St. Louis puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. The Jr. Blues kept Queen City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zak Kemble made 31 saves on 34 shots.
