The Granite City Lumberjacks rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Twin City Steel. Granite City never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Lumberjacks was down 3-0 after a goal by Twin City's Nick Cerrato at 12:51 in the first period. Granite City knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Matt Raiola at 6:44 in the third period. The Lumberjacks scored the game winner at 13:33 in the third period on a goal by Raiola. The Steel's power play was ineffective against Granite City's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Lumberjacks were often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and three majors for 65 minutes in penalty time. Granite City surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game.
