Behind a great game by Cody Guidorzi, who had two goals and two assists, the St. Louis Jr. Blues defeated the Peoria Mustangs, 4-2.

Guidorzi scored short handed at 11:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis and again while short handed 19:49 into the second to make the score 3-2 St. Louis.

St. Louis' penalty kill excelled, as the Jr. Blues gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

St. Louis' offense rang up 46 shots on Peoria's net.

St. Louis also got points from Kyle Meeh, who also registered one goal and one assist. Trace Jablin also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Sam Turner, who had one and Lukas Daniels, who had two.

The the Mustangs penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 43 minutes in penalty time. Peoria surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Mustangs were helped by Connor Millard, who had one goal. Millard scored on the power play 11:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. Peoria had gained a power play chance when Trey Dodd was whistled for cross checking. Cory Kettler provided the assist. Peoria additionally got points from Kettler, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Brendan Murphy, who had one.

Mikael Broliden made 22 saves for the Jr. Blues on 24 shots. St. Louis incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Alex Reichle recorded 42 saves for the Mustangs.
