Alexandria rips Minnesota, 7-1

The Alexandria Blizzard were firing on all cylinders against the Minnesota Flying Aces, and when the final buzzer sounded Blizzard emerged with a 7-1 win.

Alexandria's Chase Wilson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Wilson managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.06 prior to the game.

The Blizzard were led by Karson Kuntz, who finished with one goal. Kuntz scored 7:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alexandria. Garrett Skinner provided the assist.

Alexandria stifled Minnesota's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Blizzard surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Alexandria averages 4.0 goals per game.

Alexandria additionally got points from Skinner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Ricky Seidel, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nate Mettenburg, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alexandria also got a goal from Richie Brown as well. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Ian Eckland, who had three and Austin Rudnick, Will Becker, Bryce Mitzel, Danny Pelzer, and Drake Hunter, who each chipped in one.

The Flying Aces were led by Mason Wyman, who scored the team's only goal. Wyman scored 11:25 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. Alex Yde picked up the assist.

The Blizzard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Minnesota took out Rocco Yapello after he had made 19 saves and installed Christan Michalik in goal, where he finished with zero saves and the loss. The Flying Aces incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
