Twin City wins tough contest against Minnesota, 3-2TCO Training Haus Sun, Jan 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Twin City Steel escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ryan McAloon secured the win for Twin City with a goal in the third period. The Steel were paced by McAloon, who registered one goal. McAloon scored 2:18 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Twin City. Brody Peterson picked up the assist. Twin City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Minnesota power plays. The Steel kept Minnesota's goalie busy throughout the game, and Allen Patten made 33 saves on 36 shots. Twin City also got points from Isaac Hale, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Trey Hughes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Twin City received assists from Kegan Storjohann, who had one and Tom Bartel, who had two. The Flying Aces excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Minnesota was helped by Alex Yde, who racked up one goal. Yde scored 1:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota. Jared Sprink provided the assist. Payton Trammel also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Mason Wyman, who had one. Garret Patrick rejected 20 shots on goal for Twin City. The Steel incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Flying Aces incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
