Patten stymies Alexandria, Minnesota wins 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Allen Patten helped the Minnesota Flying Aces defeat the Alexandria Blizzard, 2-1.

Minnesota was paced by Andre Pison, who registered one goal. Pison scored 1:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Minnesota. Tate Sykes provided the assist.

The Flying Aces put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alexandria to score on any of its three power plays.

Blake Williams also scored for Minnesota. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Alec Brandup and Blair Seitz, who each chipped in one.

The Blizzard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Alexandria could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Blizzard average 3.9 goals per game. Alexandria's offense rang up 46 shots on Minnesota's net.

The Blizzard were led by Garrett Skinner, who scored the team's only goal. Skinner scored 16:50 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ian Eckland assisted on the tally.

Patten recorded 45 saves for the Flying Aces. Minnesota incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Erick Majerle rejected 17 shots on goal for Alexandria. The Blizzard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
