St. Louis beats Michigan 11-3 as Guidorzi gets hat trick

Cody Guidorzi netted a hat trick to lead the St. Louis Jr. Blues over the Michigan Mountain Cats, 11-3.

Guidorzi's first goal came 6:26 into the second period. He then added goals at 10:50 into the second and at 14:02 into the second.

Michigan fell victim to a deadly St. Louis power play, which ripped the Mountain Cats for five goals.

The Jr. Blues forced Mountain Cats' goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 46 shots and forcing 35 saves. Dominic Juncaj made 22 stops and Ian Dvorak made 13. St. Louis stifled Michigan's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Blues outdid their season average for goals scored. St. Louis averages 5.3 goals per game.

St. Louis also got points from Brycon Johnson, who also racked up two goals and three assists to lead the team in points and Mike Lozano, who also tallied one goal and three assists. St. Louis also had goals scored by Tommy Heinzman, who had two and Jeremy Edwards, Trace Jablin, and Jake Wynd, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Louis came via Sam Turner, who had two, Kyle Meeh, who had three, and Lukas Daniels, Kerry McGlynn, Cody Fedak, and Lucas Stewart, who each chipped in one.

The Mountain Cats were helped by Bryan Davis, who registered one goal. Davis scored 1:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. James Gleason provided the assist. Michigan also got a goal from John Arms as well. In addition, Michigan received assists from Jacob Ulicny, Derek Ried, Eric Keljo, Marshall Helton, and Ethan Baker, who contributed one a piece.

Clint Steinmeyer rejected 18 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michigan incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
