Guy Soulliere gave the Michigan Mountain Cats a 3-2 (OT) victory over the St. Louis Jr. Blues when he scored 4:18 into the extra period. Michigan overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Mountain Cats fell behind 2-0 after a goal by St. Louis' Tommy Daniels at 3:01 in the third period. Michigan tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Vaughn Clouston at 10:57 in the third period. The Mountain Cats were sparked by Soulliere, who registered one goal and one assist. Michigan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four St. Louis power plays. Michigan also got a goal from Derek Ried as well. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Eric Keljo, Ben Mack, Marshall Helton, Alex Kopek, and Ethan Baker, who contributed one a piece. The Jr. Blues did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Louis averages 5.1 goals per game. The Jr. Blues forced the Mountain Cats goalie Dominic Juncaj to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. St. Louis was helped by Mike Lozano, who grabbed one goal. Lozano scored 11:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. Jeremy Edwards assisted on the tally. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Cody Fedak and Payne Alexander, who each chipped in one. Michigan's Juncaj stopped 41 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Mountain Cats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Clint Steinmeyer recorded 15 saves for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
