Peoria rides Reichle to victory over Quad City, 3-1

The Peoria Mustangs relied on the sparkling performance of Alex Reichle in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Peoria was sparked by Lyndon Fields, who tallied one goal and one assist. Fields scored 19:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Brennan Anderson picked up the assist.

The Mustangs kept Quad City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jake Leon made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Peoria also got a goal from Cory Kettler as well. More assists for Peoria came via Nikolas Sakellaropoulos, Phillip Edwards, Alexander Turin, and Austin Wisely, who contributed one a piece.

The Jr. Flames' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Peoria power plays. Quad City forced Peoria goalie Reichle to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

The Jr. Flames were led by Jason Hoehn, who scored the team's only goal. Hoehn scored on the power play 7:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Quad City. Quad City earned a power play opportunity when Turin was put in the box for roughing. DJ Mussey provided the assist.

Alex Reichle made 30 saves for the Mustangs on 31 shots. Peoria ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Jr. Flames totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
