Parda leads Peoria to shutout victory over Quad City

Michael Parda was superb between the pipes for the Peoria Mustangs, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Alexander Turin had two goals to lead Peoria to victory. Turin found the back of the net on the power play 14:31 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Peoria and again while 9:24 into the third to make the score 3-0 Peoria.

The Mustangs racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. Peoria surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. The Mustangs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Quad City to score on any of its three power plays. Peoria's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Mustangs gives up 2.9 goals on average per game. Peoria forced the Jr. Flames goalie Brandon Perillo to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Nikolas Sakellaropoulos also scored for Peoria. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Cody Lichtenvoort, who had two and Brennan Anderson and Joe Lampman, who each chipped in one.

Parda recorded 28 saves for the Mustangs. Peoria registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Brandon Perillo made 33 saves for Quad City on 37 shots. The Jr. Flames ended with 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors.
