Jonah Hoover had two goals to lead the Three Rivers Vengeance to a 6-3 victory over the Michigan Mountain Cats. Hoover found the back of the net 17:16 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Three Rivers and again while 59 seconds into the third to make the score 5-3 Three Rivers.Three Rivers pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 17 penalty minutes. The Vengeance's offense rang up 34 shots on Michigan's net. Three Rivers also got points from Tyler Stockwell, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Nico Vecchio, who also tallied two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Three Rivers also got a goal from Chase Leonelli as well. In addition, Three Rivers received assists from Cory Myers, Kevin Kenny, and Robbie Sigurdsson, who each chipped in one and Alex Berardinelli and Tom Diffendal, who contributed two a piece. The Mountain Cats racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Michigan surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. The Mountain Cats were helped by Guy Soulliere, who registered one goal and one assist. Soulliere scored on the power play 11:04 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Three Rivers. Michigan had gotten the advantage when Three Rivers' Daniel Trageser was sent off for slashing. John Arms picked up the assist. Michigan additionally got points from Austin Sartorius, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kade Morrison also scored for Michigan. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Ben Mack and Bryan Davis, who each chipped in one. Tyler Stepke recorded 26 saves for the Vengeance. Three Rivers registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Spencer Craig made 28 saves for the Mountain Cats on 34 shots. Michigan registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
