The Queen City Steam was within striking distance after one period, but the St. Louis Jr. Blues put the pedal down in the second en route to a 5-0 victory.

St. Louis was led by Lukas Daniels, who finished with one goal and one assist. Daniels scored on the power play 14:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. The Jr. Blues had gotten the advantage when Queen City's Damien Lona was sent off for tripping. Mike Lozano provided the assist.

Mikael Broliden rejected 22 shots on goal for St. Louis. The Jr. Blues totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. McLaughlin recorded 36 saves for Queen City. The Steam ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
