Levi Armstrong had two goals to lead the Peoria Mustangs to a 6-0 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars. Armstrong scored at 4:36 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Peoria and again while 9:33 into the second to make the score 2-0 Peoria.Alex Reichle spearheaded the defensive effort for Peoria, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 28 saves for the shutout. Reichle certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.71 entering the contest. The Mustangs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Peoria's defense was surprisingly good. The Mustangs allow 2.9 goals per game. Peoria surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Mustangs average 3.0 goals per game. Peoria additionally got points from Cody Lichtenvoort, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Austin Wisely, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cory Kettler also scored for Peoria. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Phillip Edwards, Alexander Turin, Chance Homerin, Marshall Cook, Joe Lampman, Robert Norton, and Brendan Murphy, who contributed one a piece. Breezy Point stifled Peoria's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mustangs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
