Michigan beats Metro 4-3 after comeback scare

The Metro Jets tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Michigan Mountain Cats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Michigan took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Metro storm back on a Matt Stirling goal 9:58 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Mountain Cats were led by Guy Soulliere, who grabbed one goal. Soulliere scored 7:58 into the third period to make the score Michigan.

Michigan forced the Jets goalie Alex Nedeljkovic to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Michigan also got a goal from John Arms as well. More assists for Michigan came via Eric Keljo, Austin Sartorius, Bryan Davis, and Ethan Baker, who contributed one a piece.

Metro was helped by Alex Holm, who racked up one goal. Holm scored on the power play 6:00 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Michigan. A roughing penalty on Sartorius had put the Jets on the power play. Ryan Chapie provided the assist. Metro additionally got points from Stirling, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Zach Mac Kay also scored for Metro. In addition, Metro received assists from Andrew Palushaj, who had two.

The Mountain Cats' Spencer Craig stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Nedeljkovic rejected 29 shots on goal for Metro. The Jets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
