Nedeljkovic stymies Flint, Metro wins 3-1Iceland Arena Wed, Nov 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Alex Nedeljkovic stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the Metro Jets to a 3-1 victory over the Flint Jr. Generals. Metro was sparked by Travis Hargett, who tallied one goal. Hargett scored 6:41 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Metro. Ryan Chapie provided the assist. The Jets stifled Flint's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Generals were unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jets eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Metro also got a goal from Andrew Palushaj as well. More assists for Metro came via Derek Britton, who had two and Doug Andrews and Josh Hosking, who each chipped in one. Flint did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Jr. Generals average 3.9 goals per game. Flint's offense rang up 34 shots on Metro's net. The Jr. Generals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes. Flint was led by Lucas McDiarimid, who scored the team's only goal. McDiarimid scored 18:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Timothy Conser picked up the assist. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ted Barile made 33 saves for the Jr. Generals on 36 shots. Flint registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
