Brycon Johnson had two goals and one assist to lead the St. Louis Jr. Blues to a 5-1 victory over the Battle Creek Revolution. Johnson found the back of the net 19:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis and again while on the power play 17:30 into the third to make the score 5-1 St. Louis.St. Louis put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Battle Creek to score on any of its five power plays. The Jr. Blues kept the Revolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 49 saves on 54 shots. St. Louis additionally got points from Cody Guidorzi, who also finished with one goal and one assist. St. Louis also got a goal from Kyle Meeh as well. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Joey Luongo, Sam Turner, Kerry McGlynn, and Tyler Opilka, who each chipped in one. Battle Creek was led by Austin Hill, who scored the team's only goal. Hill scored 10:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Stephen Comperchi provided the assist. Hindell rejected 22 shots on goal for St. Louis. The Jr. Blues incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Revolution incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
