The Alexandria Blizzard's Joe Anderson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Anderson found the back of the net 56 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Alexandria and again while 4:44 into the third to make the score 4-2 Alexandria.

Minnesota's power play was ineffective against Alexandria's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Blizzard racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. Alexandria had been averaging 28.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Blizzard forced Flying Aces' goaltenders to work all game long, launching 41 shots and forcing 35 saves. Yasu TakaHashi made 28 stops and Allen Patten made seven. Alexandria put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flying Aces to score on any of their 10 power plays. The Blizzard surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Alexandria averages 3.3 goals per contest.

Alexandria additionally got points from Ian Eckland, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Alexandria also got a goal from Matt Crist as well. More assists for Alexandria came via Garrett Skinner, Spencer Peratalo, and Ricky Seidel, who each chipped in one and Ritchie Brown, Kyle Kuntz, and Karson Kuntz, who contributed two a piece.

Minnesota forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and two majors for 36 minutes in penalty time. The Flying Aces surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Minnesota's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Alexandria power plays.

The Flying Aces were led by Jared Sprink, who racked up one goal and one assist. Sprink scored 2:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. Billy Wagner assisted on the tally. Patrick Kegley also scored for Minnesota.

The Blizzard's Kyle Miller stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. For Alexandria, Ryen Zerfas was ejected from the game. Minnesota ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alec Brandup was ejected from the game.
