Jacob Howie netted a hat trick to lead the Flint Jr. Generals over the Battle Creek Revolution, 6-1. Howie's first goal came 13:38 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:22 into the third and at 19:33 into the third.Flint's Ted Barile was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Barile certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.08 entering the contest. The Jr. Generals pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes. Flint's offense rang up 43 shots on Battle Creek's net. Phillip Garza also scored for Flint. In addition, Flint received assists from Alex Compean, who had two, Nicholas Goetel, who had three, Lucas McDiarimid, who had four, and James Odom and Casey Barile, who each chipped in one. The Revolution could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Battle Creek was led by Tevor Clark, who scored the team's only goal. Clark scored on the power play 11:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Battle Creek. An elbowing penalty on Brett Leppek had put the Revolution on the power play. Jack Iandoli picked up the assist. The Jr. Generals registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Hughes rejected 37 shots on goal for Battle Creek. The Revolution registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
