Peoria beats Battle Creek 3-2 after comeback scare

The Battle Creek Revolution tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Peoria Mustangs held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Gage Van Order put Peoria up 3-1 in the third period, but Battle Creek pulled to within one on Tevor Clark's tally 6:49 into the third period.

Van Order had a great game for the Mustangs, netting two goals.

Peoria managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Mustangs ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game.

Peoria also got a goal from Robert Norton as well. More assists for Peoria came via Austin Ziakas, Nikolas Sakellaropoulos, Austin Wisely, Cody Lichtenvoort, and Brendan Murphy, who contributed one a piece.

James Romberger also scored for Battle Creek. In addition, Battle Creek received assists from Joey Lioy and Derek Dodge, who each chipped in one.

Michael Parda recorded 16 saves for Peoria. The Mustangs registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Trevor Gorsuch made 16 saves for the Revolution on 19 shots. Battle Creek incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
