Huge game by Sartorius boosts Michigan over Metro, 5-2

Behind a great game by Austin Sartorius, who had two goals and one assist, the Michigan Mountain Cats defeated the Metro Jets, 5-2.

Sartorius' tallies came short handed at 10:12 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Michigan and 19:39 into the second to make the score 4-1 Michigan.

Michigan's penalty kill excelled, as the Mountain Cats gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Michigan stifled Metro's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jets were unable to stop the Mountain Cats from sending pucks towards the net, and Michigan eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Michigan also got points from Marshall Helton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kade Morrison also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Eric Keljo, Alex Kopek, and Ethan Baker, who each chipped in one and Guy Soulliere and Bryan Davis, who contributed two a piece.

Metro kept the Mountain Cats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dominic Orlando made 34 saves on 36 shots.

The Jets were led by Matt Stirling, who had one goal and one assist. Stirling scored 12:50 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Michigan. Doug Andrews provided the assist. Metro also got a goal from Andrew Palushaj as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Josh Hosking, who had one.

Michigan incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Trevor Kalinowski recorded 39 saves for Metro. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
