St. Louis stifles Michigan's comeback, gains 5-3 victory

The St. Louis Jr. Blues, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by St. Louis and clinched a 5-3 victory.

The Jr. Blues led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when St. Louis' Christian Argyros' scored on the power play at 13:26 in the second period to put the Jr. Blues up 4-1.

St. Louis forced the Michigan Mountain Cats goalie Ian Dvorak to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Jr. Blues got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

St. Louis was helped by PJ Adams, who grabbed one goal. Adams scored 16:13 into the third period to make the score 5-3 St. Louis. Tyler Opilka assisted on the tally. St. Louis additionally got points from Sam Turner, who also had one goal and one assist and Argyros, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Louis also got a goal from Kyle Meeh as well. More assists for St. Louis came via Joey Luongo, who had one and Lukas Daniels and Tommy Heinzman, who each chipped in two.

Michigan was helped by Bryan Davis, who finished with one goal. Davis scored 2:30 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Louis. Austin Sartorius picked up the assist. Michigan also got points from Guy Soulliere, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Marshall Helton also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from Kade Morrison, who had one.

Mikael Broliden rejected 21 shots on goal for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Mountain Cats' Dvorak stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Michigan incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
