Peoria falls to Flint in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Conner McGovern gave the Flint Jr. Generals a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Peoria Mustangs when he scored 1:57 into the extra period.

Peoria could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. Flint made it 4-2 on a goal by Edward Osowski at 3:46 in the third period. The Mustangs got to within 4-3 on a goal by Joe Lampman at 11:47 in the third period.

Osowski was all over the ice for the Jr. Generals, as he registered two goals in the win.

Flint also got a goal from Nicholas Gnagni as well. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Eric Jones, who had two and Adrain Larsson, Nicholas Goetel, Andrew Lay, and Trevor Benaglio, who each chipped in one.

Peoria was helped by Cody Lichtenvoort, who had one goal. Lichtenvoort scored 16:04 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Levi Armstrong also scored for Peoria. More assists for Peoria came via Nikolas Sakellaropoulos and Chance Homerin, who contributed one a piece.

Ted Barile made 20 saves for Flint on 24 shots. The Jr. Generals incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Matthew Pinel rejected 24 shots on goal for the Mustangs. Peoria incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
