St. Louis rolls over Quad City, 6-2

The Quad City Jr. Flames had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Louis Jr. Blues, which beat Jr. Flames, 6-2.

St. Louis excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Jr. Blues' offense rang up 38 shots on Quad City's net.

St. Louis was helped by Brycon Johnson, who registered one goal and one assist. Johnson scored 14:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis. Tyler Opilka provided the assist. St. Louis additionally got points from Trey Dodd, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Christian Argyros, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Louis also got a goal from Kyle Meeh as well. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Joey Luongo, Cody Guidorzi, and Mike Lozano, who contributed one a piece.

The Jr. Flames were helped by Joe Edwards, who tallied one goal. Edwards scored 5:46 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Louis. Peter Coppola assisted on the tally. Halen Sampson also scored for Quad City.

Clint Steinmeyer recorded 20 saves for the Jr. Blues. St. Louis totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Jake Leon made 32 saves for Quad City on 38 shots. The Jr. Flames ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
