St. Louis boosted by Broliden's play in net, beats Twin City 4-1TCO Training Haus Sun, Oct 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Mikael Broliden stood on his head and made 28 saves to lead the St. Louis Jr. Blues to a 4-1 victory over the Twin City Steel. St. Louis was led by Lukas Daniels, who had one goal. Daniels scored on the power play 17:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. A slashing penalty on Ryan Schroeder had put the Jr. Blues on the power play. Tyler Opilka assisted on the tally. St. Louis' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Twin City power plays. The Jr. Blues' offense rang up 52 shots on Twin City's net. St. Louis also got a goal from Trace Jablin as well. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Mike Lozano, who had one and Victor Gortz and Brycon Johnson, who each chipped in two. The Steel racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game Twin City had been spending in the box. The Steel were led by Nicholas Schreiner, who scored the team's only goal. Schreiner scored 14:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Marvin Powell provided the assist. St. Louis incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jared Schletty made 48 saves for Twin City on 52 shots. The Steel ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tony Buchal was ejected from the game.
