Guidorzi, Jablin dominate Twin City, lead St. Louis to 10-3 win

Behind two goals and one assist from Cody Guidorzi and zero goals and four assists from Trace Jablin, the St. Louis Jr. Blues downed the Twin City Steel 10-3.

Guidorzi scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. St. Louis had taken the advantage when Twin City's Tyler Lodin got sent off for slashing. Brycon Johnson provided the assist. Guidorzi's next tally on the power play made the score 4-1 St. Louis with 5:34 left in the first period. PJ Adams picked up the assist.

The Steel fell victim to a deadly the Jr. Blues power play, which ripped Twin City for four goals.

St. Louis forced the Steel's netminders to work all game long, ripping 55 shots and forcing 45 saves. Sawyer Marshall made 27 stops and Joey Garapolo made 18. The Jr. Blues put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Twin City to score on any of its five power plays. St. Louis bested its season scoring average. The Jr. Blues average 5.3 goals per game.

St. Louis also got points from Kyle Meeh, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Mike Lozano, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for St. Louis included Trey Dodd, who had two and Jeremy Edwards, Victor Gortz, and Justin Rehrer, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Lucas Stewart, who had two and Devin Mayer and Christian Argyros, who contributed one a piece.

The Steel forced St. Louis goalie Clint Steinmeyer to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Twin City was helped by Ryan McAloon, who had two goals and one assist. McAloon scored the first of his two goals at 6:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Trey Hughes provided the assist. McAloon's next tally made the score 4-2 St. Louis with 2:06 left in the first period. Hughes assisted on the tally. Twin City additionally got points from Hughes, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. More assists for Twin City came via Tom Bartel, who had two.

Clint Steinmeyer made 32 saves for the Jr. Blues on 35 shots. St. Louis ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Steel incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
