Minnesota squeaks by Peoria, 5-3

The game between the Minnesota Flying Aces and the Peoria Mustangs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Minnesota emerged with a 5-3 win.

The Flying Aces gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jared Sprink 19:32 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Minnesota was paced by Sprink, who tallied one goal.

Peoria was unable to stop the Flying Aces from sending pucks towards the net, and Minnesota eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Ryan Barry also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Tate Sykes, Andre Pison, Tomohiko Minase, and Alex Yde, who contributed one a piece and Chase Myers-Beck and Blake Williams, who each chipped in two.

The Mustangs were helped by Connor Millard, who had one goal. Millard scored 18:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Joe Lampman provided the assist. Peoria also got a goal from Alexander Turin as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Cody Lichtenvoort, who had two and Austin Ziakas, Brennan Anderson, and Austin Wisely, who contributed one a piece.

Chris Amsden rejected 20 shots on goal for the Flying Aces. Minnesota incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matthew Pinel recorded 33 saves for Peoria. The Mustangs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
