David Heflin stood on his head and made 25 saves to lead the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks to a 5-1 victory over the Toledo Cherokee.

Cleveland was sparked by Brendan Logan, who grabbed one goal. Logan scored 11:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland. Andrew Sprouse picked up the assist.

The Jr. Lumberjacks made Toledo's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 36 shots and forcing 31 saves. Josh Cliff made eight stops and Nathan Miller made 23. Cleveland's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Toledo power plays.

Cleveland also got a goal from Scott Cuthrell as well. More assists for Cleveland came via Cameron Dimmitt, who had two and Andrew Mitch, Pat Smith, and Jared Johnson, who each chipped in one.

The Cherokee were held below their usual level of production. Toledo averages 3.6 goals per game.

The Cherokee were led by Jordan Prewitt, who scored the team's only goal. Prewitt scored 18:21 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cleveland. Blake Podgorski assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Toledo incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Cherokee, Brody Duncan was ejected from the game.
