Michigan downs Battle Creek in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Marshall Helton gave the Michigan Mountain Cats a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Battle Creek Revolution when he scored 4:13 into the extra period.

Guy Soulliere had a great game for Michigan, netting two goals. Soulliere's tallies came at 1:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan and on the power play 7:43 into the second to make the score 2-0 Michigan.

The Mountain Cats pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 28 penalty minutes.

Battle Creek was unable to stop Michigan from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mountain Cats eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Michigan additionally got points from Helton, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Michigan received assists from Ben Mack, who had one.

The Revolution forced Michigan goalie Dylan Martin to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Battle Creek found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays.

The Revolution were helped by Tevor Clark, who tallied one goal. Clark scored 18:10 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Murphy mike assisted on the tally. Derek Dodge also scored for Battle Creek. More assists for Battle Creek came via Austin Hill, Joshua Kimber, and Cory Markovich, who contributed one a piece.

Martin recorded 34 saves for the Mountain Cats. Battle Creek's Hughes stopped 39 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Revolution registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
