The Three Rivers Vengeance survived a determined comeback attempt by the Metro Jets on the way to a 5-4 win. Three Rivers made the score 5-2 on a goal by Tyler Stockwell at 6:44 in the third period, and Metro got as close as 5-4 when Matt Stirling scored 13:09 into the third period. Nico Vecchio had one goal and two assists to lead the Vengeance. Vecchio scored on the power play 18:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Three Rivers. Three Rivers had gained a power play chance when Mike Gambino was whistled for tripping. Jonah Hoover assisted on the tally. The Vengeance put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jets to score on any of their four power plays. Three Rivers forced Metro goalie Luke DuBois to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots. Three Rivers also got points from Alex Berardinelli, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Stockwell, who also had one goal and one assist, Hoover, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Stephen Budkey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Three Rivers came via Thomas Leistner, who had one and Tom Diffendal, who had two. The Jets were often in penalty trouble, totaling 13 minors and two majors for 76 minutes in penalty time. Metro surpassed its season average of 28.0 penalty minutes per game. Metro additionally got points from Andrew Palushaj, who also registered one goal and one assist. Metro also got a goal from Travis Hargett as well. In addition, Metro received assists from Doug Andrews, Jeff Monfils, and Alex Holm, who each chipped in one. Tyler Stepke rejected 26 shots on goal for the Vengeance. Three Rivers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. DuBois recorded 54 saves for the Jets. For Metro, Josh Hosking was ejected from the game.
