Three Rivers holds on for 4-3 win against Metro

The Metro Jets tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Three Rivers Vengeance held on for a 4-3 victory.

Three Rivers took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Metro storm back on a Travis Hargett goal 8:42 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Vengeance were sparked by Tyler Stockwell, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Stockwell scored 6:02 into the third period to make the score Three Rivers. Jonah Hoover provided the assist.

The Jets were unable to stop Three Rivers from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vengeance eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Three Rivers also got points from Tom Diffendal, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Three Rivers also got a goal from Alex Berardinelli as well. In addition, Three Rivers received assists from Daniel Trageser, Vincent Susi, Justin Von Spreecken, and Ian Wood, who contributed one a piece.

Metro was led by Mike Gambino, who tallied one goal and one assist. Gambino scored on the power play 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. The Jets had gained a power play chance when Thomas Leistner was whistled for checking from behind. Ryan Chapie picked up the assist. Doug Andrews also scored for Metro. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Matt Stirling, who had two.

John OBrien recorded 24 saves for Three Rivers. The Vengeance incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Trevor Kalinowski made 34 saves for Metro on 38 shots. The Jets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
