Dodd's big game bests Quad City in 5-1 St. Louis win

Behind a great game by Trey Dodd, who had two goals and one assist, the St. Louis Jr. Blues defeated the Quad City Jr. Flames, 5-1.

Dodd's tallies came at 15:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 5:25 into the second to make the score 3-1 St. Louis.

St. Louis forced Jr. Flames' goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 54 shots and forcing 49 saves. Jake Leon made 32 stops and Zak Kemble made 17.

St. Louis also got points from Lukas Daniels, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Justin Rehrer, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Tommy Daniels, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Cody Fedak, who had one and Trace Jablin, who had two.

Quad City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Louis power plays.

The Jr. Flames were led by Harley Manus, who scored the team's only goal. Manus scored 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Quad City. Anthony Caroselli picked up the assist.

Clint Steinmeyer made 16 saves for the Jr. Blues on 17 shots. St. Louis incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Quad City incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
