North Iowa rips Breezy Point, 8-2

The North Iowa Bulls had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-2 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Matt Kroska was all over the ice for North Iowa, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Kroska scored 10:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Noah Anderson assisted on the tally.

The Bulls forced Breezy Point's goalies to work all game long, racking up 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Grant Holler made 17 stops and Ian Shidlofsky made 18. North Iowa bested its season scoring average. The Bulls have scored at the pace of 5.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

North Iowa also got points from Eric Behrend, who also registered one goal and one assist, Patrick Sivets, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Kyle Krueger, who also had one goal and one assist, and Anderson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Timothy Santopoalo also scored for North Iowa. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Tyler Richison, who had two and Matthew Kaitchuck, Jared Ramstead, and Kyle Gonzalez, who each chipped in one.

Breezy Point also got a goal from Kyle Whipple as well. More assists for Breezy Point came via Jared Naeve, Austin Cline, and Evan Anderson, who contributed one a piece.

Matthew Bartels recorded 22 saves for North Iowa. The Bulls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The North Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
