Huge game by Lozano boosts St. Louis over Twin City, 7-1

Mike Lozano had two goals and two assists to lead the St. Louis Jr. Blues to a 7-1 victory over the Twin City Steel.

Lozano's tallies came on the power play at 13:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis and on the power play 15:52 into the first to make the score 3-0 St. Louis.

St. Louis was led by goalie Mikael Broliden, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal.

The Jr. Blues made Steel's goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 41 shots and forcing 34 saves. Jared Schletty made 19 stops and Joey Garapolo made 15. St. Louis' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Twin City power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

St. Louis additionally got points from Kyle Meeh, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Tyler Opilka, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Christian Argyros also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Jeremy Edwards, Victor Gortz, Sam Turner, Chris Brown, Cody Guidorzi, and Lucas Stewart, who each chipped in one.

Twin City could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Twin City also got a goal from Colin Fenelon as well. More assists for Twin City came via Thomas Astrup and Shane Hill, who contributed one a piece.

The Jr. Blues incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
