Joe Ballmer had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Jamestown Ironmen beat the Johnstown Tomahawks 2-1.

Jamestown was sparked by Daniel Cesarz, who grabbed one goal. Cesarz scored on the power play 8:33 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Jamestown. The Ironmen had gained a power play chance when Cobi Smith-Mass was whistled for hooking. Ryan Urso provided the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:06 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Jamestown racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The Ironmen had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. The 32 shots that Jamestown put on net surpassed the Ironmen's average of 28.3 shots per game this season.

Johnstown forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game the Tomahawks had been spending in the box.

Johnstown was led by Jesse Kessler, who scored the team's only goal. Kessler scored on the power play 8:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Johnstown. The Tomahawks earned a power play opportunity when Elliot Tisdale was put in the box for delay of game. Cody Gylling picked up the assist.

Jamestown registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Ironmen, Ross Pavek was ejected from the game. Chris Truehl rejected 30 shots on goal for Johnstown.
