Austin blows out Minot, 4-0Maysa Arena Sat, Mar 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Austin Bruins were firing on all cylinders against the Minot Minotauros, and when the final buzzer sounded Bruins emerged with a 4-0 win. Chris Fischer had two goals to lead Austin to victory. Fischer scored at 6:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Austin and again while 42 seconds into the third to make the score 3-0 Austin. The Bruins stifled Minot's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Austin's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Bruins allow 2.6 goals per game. Austin found itself short handed often, totaling 19 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays. The Bruins put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.4 they average per game. Austin also got a goal from Cody Dixon as well. More assists for Austin came via Brandon Wahlin, Riley Colvard, and Grant Eichstadt, who contributed one a piece and John Simonson and CJ Smith, who each chipped in two. The Minotauros did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Minot puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. The Minotauros were led by Jake OBorsky, who took four shots. Jason Pawloski recorded 19 saves for Austin. The Bruins registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Minot's Ryan Ruck stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Minotauros ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
